Life, and other things on my mind

I’m a disaster when it comes to nail polish. I absolutely love nail polish and I’ve all kinds of colours to decorate my hands with. It’s just that I think nail polish doesn’t love me back. Every time I decide to put on some, there’s just something else that needs to be done right after I finished the last layer. Result: nail polish ruined!

In those rare moments it does work for me in the way I wanted it to, it takes me up to a day to still ruin everything. This all makes me wonder, how do people do this? Is nail polish just meant for the princesses amongst us? Only for those people who can sit around all day and never have to do dishes or clean the bathroom? Who lives these kinds of lives? I don’t, that’s one thing that’s for sure!

So today I’ve decided to put on a layer of nail polish, then watch an episode of sex and the city, which takes half an hour so that should be enough for it to dry. Then put on another layer and watch another episode! So far so good, let’s see how long this one will last.

What about you, does this happen to you as well? If not, some advice on how to overcome this problem is most welcome! Oh, and please, please, please don’t tell me buying the expensive stuff will help. I probably will but it would also make me very unhappy since then I would have to go through life with only one colour of nail polish for al long long time.

I would like to think that I’m really very creative but the truth is, I’m not. My mom is, she always comes up with great ideas and all. I can’t even design a nice look for my blog. Let’s be honest, the one I have now isn’t really that great. In fact, I think it’s kinda ugly but well. I’m also always very judgemental on what I do.

I’ve been trying to come up with a new design here but so far it didn’t get me much further than installing several themes WordPress offers and looking at them. My conclusion: I need a nice picture to go on it. Unfortunately I’m not at all a good photographer and even if I was, I have no clue whatsoever on what I want in my picture. I guess we’ll have to stick with this not-so-very-nice design for a little while longer until I figure it out and then, just maybe I manage to take this nice picture, play around with photoshop a little to adapt it to my wishes and finally show it on my (again) new blog design!

I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve last posted something here while in fact it was only last week! I’ve been increadibly busy since, with boyfriends moving to new homes and construction workers breaking apart my bathroom and all. I’d say it’s a busy time in the housing department.

So now I’m staying in somebody else’s moving mess for about a week which basically means that I’ve been unpacking boxes, searching stuff and trying to move around in a room full of things-that-have-yet-to-be-located. I guess you can see that in between this there wasn’t much time to post on my blog, or read other blog posts for that matter. Not that I’m complaining. Oh no, it’s been great fun! And my boyfriends new home looks great, if you ignore the few boxes here and there.

Anyway, classyrose started a great challenge last week and I decided to participate. It’s called the random blog challenge and it basically means that you read a few new blogs every day and leave a comment. I know it’s not much, considering it’s been a week but like I said, I haven’t been near a computer in a while. I’ll make it up to you I promise! Starting right now..

So here it is, I’ve been working on this all day and I think it looks quite nice! Nothing like the one you saw a few days before I guess… I was fun to do and the results are good.

Let’s get ready for spring I would say! I’m already looking forward to the sun and flowers outside and I thought to cheer you up a bit with some flower power in here. Hope you like it!

As you can see I’ve installed an new theme on my blog. It looks pretty bad right now, with the non matching colors and all but I promise you, once it’ll be done it’s gonna be absolutely fabulous! So for now, please mind my bad sense of taste and enjoy the reading instead! (I’ll try to post something soon)

I’ve been feeling the creativity vibe today. After sleeping in (because it’s sunday) and having breakfast and all that stuff, I decided to make cupcakes. Which, considering I’ve never done them before, I think went quite well. More work than expected but hey, that’s what sundays are for, right?

When the cupcakes were baking in the oven I started some jewelry making. I made a bracelet and some earrings, something I’ve been meaning to do for quite a while now. I think they turned out pretty nice, although it’s not the best thing I’ve ever made but that’s ok.

After that I started knitting, a cowl which I found here. Browsing through this website, it made me wonder. Why don’t I ever seem to have time to make all those fabulous things shown there (ok, except for today)? Or, maybe I do have time every now and then after work but at those times my couch and tv are just way too tempting to even consider baking cupcakes or making jewelry.

Maybe it actually is a good thing. If I would be doing this a lot, I’d end up being fat of all the cakes I’m eating, and with way too much jewelry. I guess the worst part of doing this all the time would be that at some point it wouldn’t be fun anymore! Now we wouldn’t want that to happen, do we?
